The Institute

Govt. Polytechnic Kohima, was established in the year 1994. It was initially a Women’s Polytechnic catering only to girls but was later made co-educational in 2002 in order to accommodate both boys and girls since it was the only Polytechnic in the state  Capital. It is functioning under the aegis of State Council for Technical Education (SCTE), under the Directorate of Technical Education. GPK is ideally situated on a hillock about five kilometers away with a panoramic view of the capital town Kohima.
